I reviewed this for FT Life & Arts. It was one of the funniest, most insightful books I’ve read this year. One of the many things I love about reviewing is that you’re sometimes given things you might not pick up yourself. This novel is an example, but since finishing it I’ve been inspired to check out more of Hemon’s stuff, like this incredible essay collection focusing on pivotal moments in the author’s life, and this essay for The New Yorker, which is completely beautiful and sad.
